 December Grassroots Meal - Saturday, December 21, 2024

 Fourteen volunteers from St. Paul's provided support for a special holiday meal for Grassroots Day Resource Center (DRC) served on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The volunteer team included Sally Murphy, Diane Hunt, Judy Hewitt, Sandy August, Valerie Groff, Betty Kerwin, Sara Berschet, John Bell, Sue Bell, Karen Jennings, Mike Jennings, Eric Jennings, Emilia Routzounis, and Bill Hunt. The meal included turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn, rolls, fresh fruit, homemade Christmas cookies, iced tea, and lemonade and fed approximately 100 people at Grassroots DRC. The meal was a big hit! Many Grassroots clients expressed their gratitude for the special meal and said it was delicious. Leftover food was taken to Grassroots in Columbia, MD and fed approximately  70 more people.

 Thank you very much to all the volunteers who supported this meal by shopping, making cookies, portioning cranberry sauce and cookies, preparing the meal, and serving the meal. You made it a great success! Your efforts not only provided a delicious meal, but sent a warm message of kindness and hope to our community members in need during this holiday season.
