St. Paul's 2024 Holiday Social Outreach Efforts - Angel Tree Program and Holiday Food Drive
Thank you so much to everyone who supported the 2024 Holiday Outreach efforts! St. Paul’s sponsored four Howard County families in need (with a total of 18 children) through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. Many congregation members sponsored an angel by providing wonderful Christmas gifts, including toys and clothes. St. Paul's also provided each Angel Tree family with a food basket and gift card to Giant. In addition, St. Paul's continued their collaboration with Fulton Elementary School and provided support to three needy families at the school by providing each family with food baskets and gift cards to Giant and Walmart.
The Holiday Food drive held in November and December was extremely successful! Many thanks to Daniel Knox (Sondra's son) for coordinating and partnering with St. Paul's to collect food and gift cards at his workplace, C&O Services, that were donated to St. Paul's Holiday food drive. Many thanks to the Youth Group for their help in sorting the food items and assembling the food baskets. Many thanks to the Sunday School children for making beautiful Christmas cards for each family receiving a food basket. Enough food was collected during the food drive for 11 large food baskets (four Thanksgiving and four Christmas food baskets for the Angel Tree families plus three Christmas food baskets for the Fulton families), with plenty of food left over to support the December Grassroots holiday meal and provide a significant food donation to Mt. Zion's food pantry. Mt. Zion was very appreciative of St. Paul's partnership and on-going support of their Food Pantry Ministry and sent the following note: "We're adding St. Paul's to our Donor Thank You Board for the clients to see!! Your donations and hard work are appreciated more than you can ever know."
Thank you to all who supported these important community outreach efforts! Your kindness and generosity have brought the joy of Christmas to many children and their families!
~~ A special thank you to Maureen and Randy Arndt for coordinating St. Paul's efforts with the Angel Tree program, delivering Christmas gifts and Thanksgiving & Christmas food baskets to the Salvation Army, and delivering food baskets to Fulton Elementary and food items to Mt. Zion. Thank you both so much!! ~~
