October Grassroots Meals

Many St. Paul's volunteers supported the Saturday, October 26, 2024 Grassroots Day Resource Center (DRC) meal: Carole Manges purchased food needed for the meal; Judy Hewitt (ServSafe Kitchen Manager), Sara Berschet, John Bell, and Russ Werner prepared the meal; and Pastor Joe and Carol Lettrich, Janey Jew, and Erik Domaas delivered and served the meal. The menu included chicken and cheese enchiladas, cilantro lime rice, black beans, tossed salad, apples, clementines, cookies, iced tea, and lemonade. The meal was very well received and fed approximately fifty-five people at Grassroots DRC in Jessup, MD. The leftover food was taken to Grassroots Shelter in Columbia, MD, enough to feed an additional fifty-five people.

Thank you very much to all the volunteers who supported this meal and helped make it a great success! Your efforts not only provided a delicious, warm meal, but sent a message of kindness and hope to our community members in need.
