St. Paul’s Calls Graduate Pastor

Theodore Menter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Menter, of Pemberville, Ohio was among the graduates of Theological Seminary at Capital University, Columbus Ohio, on June 6, has been called as pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulton

He will be ordained into Lutheran Ministry on June 13 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in his hometown, and will attend the Eastern District Convention of the American Lutheran Church from June 21-25, arriving here on June 25, to take up temporary residence at 1014 Phillip Powers Drive, Laurel, pending construction of a new parsonage.

The new minister will be installed at St. Paul’s Church on Sunday, June 27, at 3 p. m. and all neighboring congregations have been invited to attend the services. There will be no morning worship services at the church on this day.

The Reverend Albert Horn, of Baltimore, will deliver the installation sermon and the Reverend Richard Hefner, of St. John’s Church, Pfeiffer’s Corner will act as liturgist.

Mr. Menter was graduated from Capital University in 1950 and interned at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Berea, Ohio from September 1952 to September 1953. He is married to the former Margaret Hurdelbrink, of Pemberville, Ohio, and they have one son,  David, age 2. Ground will be broken for the new parsonage, which will be located adjacent to the church, immediately after the morning worship service on June 13, with the Rev. Albert R. Horn of Baltimore, officiating. The 9-room, 2-story, stone dwelling, which will match the church, will be constructed by James O. Williams of Brunt Mills.
